Cash dividend payable in the second quarter of 2026
CAMDEN, N.J., April 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- American Water Works Company, Inc. (NYSE:AWK) announced that its board of directors today declared a quarterly cash dividend payment of $0.8950 per share of common stock, an increase of 8.2 percent from last quarter's cash dividend.
"Our dividend increase aligns with our long-term financial target of 7 to 9 percent EPS and dividend growth, demonstrating our commitment to executing successful strategic initiatives," said John Griffith, President and CEO of American Water. The company expects to continue its annual dividend growth within a 7 to 9 percent range over the long term, and maintaining a target dividend payout ratio of between 55 and 60 percent of earnings.
The increased quarterly dividend will be payable on June 2, 2026, to all shareholders of record as of May 12, 2026.
